House sitting jobs

Looking for a part-time job in your area? Want to look after animals in their own home?

How does it work?

Every day people face the dilemma of what to do with their pets when they plan to travel or have to be away from home – that’s why we have a fabulous team of house sitters covering many areas, so we wondered if you’d like to join our team too?

House sitting is a great alternative for some customers who do not or cannot put their dogs into kennels or a home boarding environment. It also provides them with the reassurances that not only are their beloved pets being cared for but also their home.

We welcome job applications from everyone, but this vacancy may be suitable for:

  • Semi-retired or retired people
  • Someone who has flexibility during the day
  • Someone who works from home or has their own business

Main duties:

  • Looking after a variety of pets within their own home (cats, dogs, small animals, reptiles, fish)
  • Understand special requests and specific conditions for each animal
  • Give each animal love and attention
  • Take photos of the animals (so human clients can see how they are doing) and update customers regularly
  • Communicate with clients, including arranging visits with new customers (with your manager’s support)
  • Ensure schedules are up to date each week

The essentials – we are looking for people who are willing to…

  • Submit for a police and reference check
  • Look after a variety of pets as if they are a member of the family
  • Complete a pet first aid course
  • Carry out some shadow visits before taking the job
  • Undergo training as required
  • Have a reliable car (insurance, tax and MOT)
  • Knowledge of the area (or reliable sat nav)
  • Have a reliable mobile phone and internet access
